Rescued from the Age, Claire Parr

I was raised in a good Catholic family in south Louisiana. I have eight brothers and sisters. We were all basically good people, but that was it. All I knew was to be good and everything would be okay, but this proved not to be true. Deep inside there was a longing for something solid. Just going to church and trying to be good could not fill my deep longing for peace.

As I continued to live my life without any real direction I was confronted with Christ. I thought I was okay, but then I realized I needed Christ to come into my life and save me. After receiving the Lord I started to fellowship with the local church in Lafayette. I received much help from the fellowship with all the brothers and sisters here.

I was also greatly helped to see many Bible truths from the ministries of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee. A book by the name of The Economy of God, written by Witness Lee, helped me to see that the Bible shows us that we have a body, soul, and spirit (1 Thessalonians 5:23). The book points out that we enjoy Christ today in our human spirit and that we can come to Christ directly.

I have been saved for 13 years and I am still enjoying meeting with the local church and reading the ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee. I praise the Lord for His mercy and grace for showing me my need for Him and for bringing me to the local church. I have found my rest, my home, in the church.
